SUBMISSION & GUIDELINES

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

We are inviting submissions from a range of different disciplines that examine the different psychological, social, political, and cultural influences on health and illness, especially for those most excluded in society.

The conference is open to anyone whose interests align with this focus, regardless of their area of expertise.

Participants can choose from several formats, each designed to accommodate different types of research and presentation styles:

Description: A 12-minute presentation, followed by a 3-minute Q&A session. Oral presentations can be academic in nature (e.g., presenting research) or made in a less formal way, to communicate an experience or perspective on one of the conference themes. Oral presentations may be offered by any participants. Where thematically similar, oral presentations may be allocated to a symposium by the conference academic chair. Otherwise, oral presentations will be presented in conference sessions and, where possible, with an indication of a general theme (e.g. “participatory research in health”).

Submission Requirements: Abstract (max 300 words) outlining the research question, methods, results, and conclusions. Please indicate the track most relevant to your submission.

Description: A symposium consists of 3-4 related presentations on a common theme, curated and led by a chairperson. The total duration is 60 minutes, including a 15-minute discussion.

Submission Requirements: A symposium abstract (max 500 words) providing an overview of the theme and objectives, plus individual abstracts (max 300 words each) for each presentation within the symposium.

Description: A roundtable is an interactive session where 4-5 participants discuss a critical issue in health psychology. The session lasts 60 minutes and encourages audience participation.

Submission Requirements: A roundtable proposal (max 500 words) outlining the issue to be discussed, the participants, and key questions for debate.

Description:Posters will be presented electronically on large interactive screens throughout the conference. Dedicated poster sessions will allow authors to discuss their work with attendees. Poster presentations are available for onsite participants only.

Submission Requirements: Poster abstract max. 250 words, including objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. Include title, authors, affiliations, and presenting author. Accepted posters must be uploaded as a single-page PDF. Format: landscape, 16:9 aspect ratio. Use clear, readable text and high-quality figures; keep text concise. QR codes and hyperlinks are permitted, but animations, videos, and other non-PDF interactive content are not. The presenting author must be registered and attend the poster session in person.

Description: This open format consists of a 5-minute visual or narrative presentation, followed by a brief Q&A. It is ideal for telling a coherent, engaging story; pitching a provocative idea, an innovative method, or a controversial or preliminary finding.

Submission Requirements: Abstract (max 200 words) highlighting the key idea or challenge, and its significance to the field.

Description:Workshops are interactive sessions designed to provide participants with practical skills, methods, or hands-on experience related to health psychology.

Submission Requirements: Workshop abstract: max. 300 words. Include the title, organiser(s)/facilitator(s), affiliations, aims, target audience, planned activities, and expected learning outcomes. Workshop duration: 2.5 hours. Indicate any special requirements, such as equipment, room layout, materials, or participant limits. All workshop facilitators must be registered for the conference and attend in person.

Participants are invited to present their projects in creative and innovative ways, including, but not limited to, spatial, visual, auditory, or tactile forms of communication. Please indicate the time and space you need for your presentation, along with any technical requirements. The Conference Committee will provide feedback on the feasibility of the proposed format, considering the venue's characteristics and limitations.
